Time to Get Real.

Time to Get Real.

Ever since I entered into real estate, I knew I wanted to build a business by referral. So, what does that even mean? I think it is time for me to get real with you about a few things.

To me, this means having people in my life who know my personality and work ethic well enough to recommend me to others. It means serving my clients so well that they want me to help those who mean the most to them as well.

If you know anything about me, you know I have a passion for people, marketing and all things HGTV. I love being an entrepreneur, I love taking photos, I love networking and yes, I love the flexibility of being in real estate as I juggle being a mom, wife and friend.

I do not like cold calls and I do not like when people come knocking on my door asking me to buy something I don’t need (unless you’re a girl scout – I will gladly open the door with a crying baby and a barking dog for you, little one)! That said, I simply don’t want to build my business that way. Don’t get me wrong, there are Realtors our there that SLAY this approach but it doesn’t give me good energy and, at the end of the day, good energy is what will make me even better at what I do. I want to get social, I want to get out and meet with people, I want to pop by with fun gifts for my past clients and ambassadors. I want to help the people that my people care about most!

When I reach out asking who you know that I can help, it is from a genuine place in my heart of wanting to do just that. I will build this business with the help of the people who know I would bend over backwards to serve others. It’s about helping people move on to a new chapter and giving back to the community. It’s about seeing the excitement of my clients and friends at the closing table after they’ve signed that last document.

Every day, I think to myself “I was made for this” and that feeling goes a long ways and radiates on the people that I work with. It simply doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do. So, yes, I want to know who you know who is looking to buy or sell that I can help?

I recently stumbled upon a video of Realtor I follow who works out of Charleston. He is actually one of the reasons I entered into this space to begin with. I kept watching what he did and found myself saying “ugh, I want to do what he does” over and over again.

((Hey folks…there is your sign of what you should be doing))*

Anways, he talked about authenticity and how he has built his business by referral and simply got real with the people in his network. So, if you’re reading this, THANK YOU for convincing me to step out of my comfort zone as well and finally share something that has been on my mind for a while now.

For the rest of you, who do you know that I should know? Who can I help that you know I will serve well? Just keep me in mind, will ya?

As always, thank you for your support as I build my business. I look forward to helping you or someone you know either now or down the road!
