Distraction

Distraction

{7/10/2020}

The word distraction has been weighing heavy on my heart lately. With everything going on in the world, it seems to become harder and harder to focus on what God is calling me to do and who He is calling me to be.

I got to my Friday AM yoga class at OneLife Fitness – Holly Springs the other day and the “class is full” sign was on the door. I was in my flip flops so any other workout was not really an option. Instead of aborting the mission, I decided to take my practice outside and lead myself through my own yoga class. What you see in this picture is me and my mat and a beautiful morning. What you don’t see is the loud music (not my normal yoga playlist), the sound of cars rushing by on the highway and a shared workout space where people are doing some serious heavy lifting. I made a choice…let’s see just how much “distraction” has control over me…I began my practice and tuned out the outside distractions and followed through with the plan.

Here’s the thing – you’re going to get distracted, you’re going to lose focus, you’re going to have days where it will be easier to walk out or shut down than push onward but that doesn’t serve you or anyone around you. His power is made perfect in our weakness. Let us run with perseverance the race He has marked for us and look up instead of all around when we have feelings of fear and doubt creep in. FAITH over fear, LOVE over hate, PEACE over worry.
