All the FALL things.
Fall has finally arrived and sweater weather is upon us! Can I get a hallelujah!?
The leaves are starting to turn, the air is getting crisp and my husband just can’t wait for me to pull him away from football to go for a hike…right after stopping for a pumpkin spice latte, of course!
For those looking to get out and about this season, here are a few of our personal favorites:
Take a hike –
Amicalola Falls – a woodsy adventure and a waterfall? You had me at hello. This beautiful wonder can be found in the Chattahoochee National Forest, just 8 miles from the Appalachian Trail.
Tallulah Gorge – whether you want to run, hike or bike, this place has a little something for everyone. And yes, the gorge is beautiful.
Red Top Mountain – Another beautiful hike with Lake Allatoona water views. You’re probably noticing a common theme with me.
Kennesaw Mountain – Want a side of history with your hike? Check out this National battlefield and learn more about it’s piece of the Civil War puzzle.
> A Local Fave:
Olde Rope Mill – Avalanche Trail is a 4.9 mile loop trail, located in Woodstock, GA!
Give me all the pumpkins –
Burts Pumpkin Farm: If you’re hiking at Amicalola, kill two birds with one stone and stop by this infamous pumpkin patch in North Georgia! You won’t be disappointed.
> A Local Fave:
Big Springs Farm: Located off of Sugar Pike Rd in Woodstock, GA, this farm has Pumpkin Patches, Hayrides, Face Painting, Farm Animals, Corn Mazes + a Bounce House!
Apple Pickin’ is the life for me –
Mercier Orchards: Unlike all of the other reccs listed above, I’m embarrassed to say I have yet to go to this one! However, this bucket list item WILL be filled this year. If you’re from Georgia, you’ve likely heard of this one and/or have been to it before! Hop on a tractor tour to see the orchard and pick some delicious apples! This place is a big hit during the Fall, but I actually found they have other fruit pickin’ May-July too!
Do you have a favorite go-to spot that I missed? Drop me a note – I’d love to check it out!
Now…on to figuring out how to get my husband away from football on the weekends. Tips welcome ?
